I know you are used to hearing about the latest Traffic Exchange News, but remember that TEscoop is also about helping you better your business. Yesterday I spoke with a friend I’ve known at the gym for sometime and learned that he is actually very successful. I’d rather not name him, so we will call him Jim.
We spoke about many things, ranging from taxes, jobs, real estate, and who knows what else. But out of everything we talked about, one thing struck me.
I told him that my business goals were never that grand. I don’t want to be the richest man in the world, I simply want to a certain amount of money to retire with and live the rest of my life in comfort.
Jim looked shocked, and told me “Make as much money as you can, it is your responsibility.” Now before you get the wrong idea, the conversation was not about being filthy rich. It was about helping others. I’ve always thought having excessive wealth was being greedy, but what I learned from Jim is that it only depends on how you plan to use your wealth. Jim opened a school in Africa and funds its needs for supplies, such as a large stock of computers and paint he just shipped recently.
If you have the ability and desire to create wealth, make as much as you can. Take what you need, you earned it. But if you have more than you will ever need, make your life truly meaningful and give back. The money you make can be used to create jobs, make donations to charities, or even start your own non-profit organization.
As Jim told me, “If you can help just one person, you made the world a better place.” Lets all do our part.
