Recently there has been discussion at the NetMarketingForum about Test Hoopla and its reporting of Top Traffic Exchanges. Because the list is primarily based on a traffic exchange’s ability to deliver traffic, some are claiming the list to be ineffective.
These claims are understandable, because ultimately the most important attribute a user looks for is results. Test Hoopla focuses on delivery numbers, but not on other information such as click-through rates, sign ups, growth rate of the exchange, and other valuable information. Bill Carr, owner of Test Hoopla, mentions that it’s difficult to accurately measure numbers it cannot confirm.
Traffic delivery is certainly important to evaluate an exchange. At one point when I used TrafficSwarm, I had an abundant amount of credits that were taking too long to be delivered. While the results were great when my website was actually shown, the majority of my credits were not being used.
The lesson to be learned from this is that the many lists we look at should be used as a guide to help us. Definitely use the reputable lists as a resource to help you, but also run your own tests and find out what works best for YOU.
