It’s been a wild ride for Trafficera thus far, with their launch being surrounded with tons of hype and lots of criticisms.

One of the biggest problems so far has been the issue of members surfing over 12 hours per day in order to win weekly competitions and super clocks. Some of the heaviest surfers have even admitted to trading surfing shifts with trusted people in order to stay ahead of the competition. This has resulted in a dilution of quality in the traffic being delivered because many of these power surfers are supposedly not looking at ads.

Trafficera has taken a step in the right direction now, by limiting the amount of PV a member can earn from surfing to 5,000 PV every 24 hours. The time will reset every day at 3:00 P.M. PST. Also, team surfing PV has also been limited to 400,000 per team, meaning that teams made up of power surfers will need to refer and sponsor other members in order to earn additional team PV.

Super Clocks will also be reduced in order to give more teams the chance to compete for prizes. The Super Clocks were being set too high, resulting in only teams with power surfers having a realistic chance of winning.

Finally, if a member joins a team after a new week has started, the said team will earn a pro-rated contribution of that member’s efforts for the week. Current team members can also no longer be booted in the final 72 hours of the current week.

There has been no mention of when these changes will take place, or if they are already in effect. Although the Trafficera update implied these changes are currently in effect, I have yet to see a reduced Super Clock since the e-mail update.

These are some great changes that many members have been asking for. Hopefully it will level the playing field and allow more teams to compete in a friendly, fair environment at Trafficera.
